From Rescue To Stardom: The Story of Quincy and Lucy

Quincy and Lucy are both rescues. Quincy was abandoned at just 24 hours old and five pounds. I brought him home and raised him alongside my trio of performing dogs. He bonded with me and also the dogs, joining them in his first performance at just six weeks old.

Lucy was abandoned with her sister on a San Antonio street, when they were both still puppies. Amazingly, they survived for several months until finally a volunteer with the high-kill shelter somehow caught them, and they were both adopted into homes.

The Duo's Unique Talents

With patience, love, and lots of fun, Quincy and Lucy have been trained to perform a variety of precision behaviors on cue, perfect for photo and video work. Quincy can shake with his right 'hand', shake left hand, turn right, turn left, bow, lie down, stay, walk on a leash, come when called, say cheese (smile) and hold things in his mouth. Quincy has also been trained for 'target'-to go to a certain place.

Lucy can come when called, walk on a leash, sit, stay, down, sit up, shake right hand, jump into my arms when I clap once, and turn a circle to the right.

Both animals love people, are comfortable with clothing, glasses, hats, etc., and are trained to perform from either verbal cues or hand signals.

Why They Are Special

  • Trained rescues with heart and story

  • Unique size contrast: 150-pound goat and 17-pound dog

  • Comfortable with costumes, props, and camera work

  • Highly versatile for photos, videos, and live appearances

I have spent years training animals of all kinds, and seeing these rescues thrive is my greatest joy. Quincy and Lucy aren't just pets--they're creative collaborators who help brands, media, and audiences connect through humor, skill, and storytelling.
